We have been busy behind the scenes at Digiroom lately, working on a project that is really close to our hearts. If you live anywhere near the Antrim Coast, you might already know about Hillmount House, but if you dont, it is a spectacular three-hundred-year-old Georgian manor set on ten acres just outside Larne. It is owned and run by Simon and Andrew, who are two of the kindest, most down-to-earth people you could ever hope to meet, and they have spent years carefully restoring the house and gardens to create something incredibly peaceful.

When they first came to us, they had a beautiful physical space but their online presence needed to match that same level of care and warmth. They needed a website that did not feel like a cold corporate template, because that is the exact opposite of what a weekend at Hillmount is actually like.
Our job was to take care of the entire build, migrate their website and email setups over to our high-performance hosting platforms, and lay down the foundational search engine optimisation. We wanted to make sure that when couples are searching online for private, exclusive wedding venues in Northern Ireland they can actually find this place easily without getting lost in a sea of generic hotel listings.
Crafting a Lightweight, Visual Experience
One of the biggest challenges with high-end wedding venues is imagery. Simon and Andrew have a massive gallery of stunning photographs showing real weddings in their restored Coach House, the beautiful newly built, and the rear gardens that look right out over the sea towards Drains Bay. While these massive image files look brilliant to a human eye, they can completely destroy a website's loading speed if they are not optimised properly.
We built the site using a lightweight framework, combining clean design blocks with aggressive image compression. This means a couple browsing on their mobile phone while sitting on the train can slide through the galleries without any frustrating lag, which is incredibly important for keeping people on the page.
We also manage the technical hosting and email administration, making sure everything sits on high-performance, secure architecture. When you are running a busy venue, the last thing you want to worry about is whether your enquiry forms are delivering safely to your inbox or if a sudden spike in traffic is going to slow your pages down.
Designing for Real Couples
Instead of stuffing pages with robotic keywords, our SEO strategy focused on real human intent. We wanted to make sure the site speaks directly to couples who are actively looking for a unique, exclusive wedding venue in Northern Ireland. By structuring the layout around their key offerings, like their intimate weekend house party wedding packages where up to ten guests can stay over in the manor, we made sure the site answers the exact practical questions people have before they even book a viewing.
We also worked to ensure the website serves as a highly informative resource for general planning. This involved setting up dedicated areas where couples can find answers to their questions, including details on local suppliers and the general logistics of the day on their frequently asked questions page. For those who prefer a smaller, more quiet gathering with close family, we ensured they could easily explore options for small wedding venues in Northern Ireland to see how the spaces adapt to smaller numbers.
It has been a privilege to work alongside Simon, Andrew, and the team on this. If you are currently planning your own day and looking at stunning wedding venues, we highly recommend checking out the new website at Hillmount House and booking a quiet walk around the grounds to see it for yourself.
